INSIDE THE OLIVIA RUBIN X THE BISCUITEERS LAUNCH
Yesterday, I was invited along to the launch event for Olivia Rubin’s collaboration with The Biscuiteers.
I didn’t need much of a nudge – the pastel queen colliding with my love of sweet treats? Count me in.
I have been buying from Oliva for years, I fell in love with her gorgeous pastel hues, and my very first purchase was this same dress I wore to the event. Did I feel a tiny bit humbled when someone asked me, “Is that vintage Olivia Rubin?” Yes, yes I did. Because this babe bought her dress brand new… and apparently, it’s now from the archives.
Regardless, as I stepped out of Ladbroke Grove station and trotted along to the shop, the outfit earned so many compliments that I was beaming before I even walked through the door.
We were welcomed into the store with a mimosa – happy days – and then told we would be icing our own biscuits. Never have I regretted downing a mimosa so quickly – would it be a hindrance, or a help….?
I was hoping that my experience decorating cakes would mean I was a natural at this…alas… it turns out icing dainty biscuits and icing massive cakes are, in fact, two very different skillsets.
Still, I’m not too disappointed with the outcome – I’ll let you try and work out which is mine, and which is the professionals’.
I spent the rest of the morning admiring the intricate biscuit designs – even the packaging is stunning – and picking up a couple of gifts for my family.
I also managed to have a few lovely chats with Olivia herself. These kinds of events always serve as a brilliant reminder that no matter how much you might speak to someone online, nothing beats real-life connection.
