WHY YOU WON’T FIND ME ON SUBSTACK

Everyone is writing on Patreon or Substack these days, but I honestly couldn’t handle the pressure of knowing someone is paying to read what I’ve written. I’d end up second-guessing myself and putting some long words in there just to make me sound clever….

But I really wanted to bring back the old-school, early 2000s blog vibe. So, welcome to my weekly brain dump. Sometimes it’ll be more structured; today it’s just rambling….

I don’t know if I’m in a particularly productive phase of my cycle, but I just listed 60 pieces on Vinted. It is surprisingly hard work to photograph and describe that much stuff, but I put on a banging playlist and just had a little party.

Half of it is already gone, but if you want to see what’s left, here’s the link. My bedroom actually looks like it belongs to an adult now. I wouldn’t call the process therapeutic, but my husband would definitely call it a miracle!

Saturday night was spent at a Quiz Night (spoiler alert, my team came last), but it was an excellent opportunity to take my newly painted shoes out – I bought these epic shoes on Ebay, but I hadn’t realised quite how BLUE they were. And the hot pink was giving more red vibes, which, honestly, only reminded me of Noddy. So I dug out my paints, and made myself a dreamy pair of lilac and pink shoes. Check out that heel! Ugh, So good.

Then I spent Sunday going for a walk along the Grand Union Canal, with a rewarding Limoncello Spritz at the end of it. It was the perfect opportunity to wear this incredible neon pink tulle jumpsuit, and I just ran with the whole neon vibe. Definitely channelling the summer in this outfit! I do think that might have been the last of the summer though, because I’ve worn tights every day since…

I thought my busy season for cakes was over, but I’ve had such a huge influx of orders, that I’ve spent more time than I expected in the kitchen this week… Still, one must pay the bills somehow, and I can think of worse ways than by making a ton of buttercream cakes. (and let’s be honest, we all know I’m living on the offcuts)

    I LOVE that you are bringing back blogs, I always wanted to start a blog, but the further down the road we have gone with social media and the latest thing to keep up with, it was very discouraging so I never did. This is so refreshing! Thank you!
